I'm Carl Maguire.
I'm a health coach and happy to be one.
My idea of health is more than just blood pressure readings, stress tests, and
what the scale says.. To me health is a balance of all parts of life. It includes physical activity, relationships, job satisfaction, hobbies, connecting, and nutrition. All these things add up to overall happiness. Each aspect feeds the other.
If we are unhappy or rundown our immune systems suffer. We walk down the streets with unseen weight on our shoulders. If we are happy and feel fulfilled we walk down the streets with our heads high and our shoulders back. How would you prefer to go through life?
Let me give you an idea of what I do.
I work with clients to asses their current physical and emotional state.
Then I help them decide on where they need to be for their overall health and wellness. By working with them on plans of action we go through our sessions checking off what was done right and what could be improved on. No rights. No wrongs. We'll use what works and discard what does not. All steps will take you to a better place. My clients get to the point where doing what is best for their well being becomes their second nature.

For the first year of my daughter's life a normal night's sleep was something other people got.
I had little time to get in my daily workouts and when I did I had no energy for them. Fatigue and stress became my best companions. For the first time in my life my clothes became tighter as I put on 20 pounds. Not the end of the world but this was not me. Slowly I made changes. The weight came off and my spirits improved. Then the pandemic hit (I live in NYC) and those 20 pounds came back for an unwelcome visit.
No one to blame but myself. Life changes constantly but it is how we deal with those changes that produce results. Good or bad those results come from the choices we make. Be sure to make the right ones.
